Diary Monday 1st December – Sunday 7th December - 08/12/2008

Monday – in Northern Ireland on Ministerial Business – launched campaign to address domestic burglary. Tuesday – in Northern Ireland on Ministerial Business – launched the “Get Home Safe” campaign. Back to the House of Commons in evening. Wednesday – in House of Commons for Parliamentary Business, including the State Opening of Parliament and the Queen’s Speech. Thursday – in House of Commons. Attended the North West Regional Development Agency Parliamentary Reception. Returned to Manchester in the afternoon for Constituency Business. Attended Manchester Airport Group dinner in the evening. Friday – in Wythenshawe and Sale East for Constituency Business. Met with representatives from St Modwen about the future regeneration of Wythenshawe Civic Centre. Attended opening of short term holding facility for illegal immigrants waiting deportation from the UK at Manchester Airport, with Immigration Minister Phil Woolas. Visited SS John Fisher and Thomas More School and discussed the school with Headmaster Dominic Hemmington. Met with representatives from Wythenshawe Regeneration Team to discuss a number of local issues. Saturday – attended bike crushing event with Cllr Tony Burns in Wythenshawe Town Centre. Sunday – in Manchester.
