Sunday 26th February – Saturday 3rd March - 07/03/2012 |
On Monday at Education Questions I raised concerns that Government ministers are forcing schools to convert to academies against their wishes. On Tuesday during a statement on the health bill I pressed Andrew Lansley for a commitment not to use the current changes in Trafford as an opportunity to privatise the NHS. On Wednesday I attended a meeting of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Landmines followed by Prime Minister’s Questions. On Friday I attended the launch of the new Airport Academy and visited Sale High School to be interviewed for a radio programme to be broadcast at the school. Later I attended the AGM of Trafford Council for Voluntary Service followed by a fundraising event for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations. On Saturday I joined Shadow Secretary of State for Health, Andy Burnham, and hundreds of others at the “Drop the Bill” event in Manchester.
