Diary Monday 2nd March 2009 – Sunday 8th March 2009 - 10/03/2009

Monday – in Northern Ireland for Parliamentary Business. The Minister visited a Clean Neighbourhood Programme project in Cookstown to see the benefit of the project and also attended a Neighbourhood Watch Best Practice Workshop, also in Cookstown. Tuesday – in Northern Ireland for Ministerial Business. Returned to London in the evening for Parliamentary Business. Wednesday – in London for Parliamentary Business, including Northern Ireland Questions and Prime Minister’s Questions. Attended the Second Reading of the Northern Ireland Bill in the House. Thursday – in London for Parliamentary Business. Returned to Manchester in the evening. Friday – in Wythenshawe and Sale East for Constituency Business. Visited Newall Green High School to appear on a Question and Answer panel with Councillor Tony Burns; Sergeant Neil Tolley from GM Police; Headteacher Neil Wilson; and the school’s Health Adviser, Lindsey Shaffer. The session, with Year 9 pupils was chaired by Channel M’s Andy Crane. Visited Piper Hill High School. Met with the teachers, pupils and the School Council. Attended Fairtrade Event with Trafford Fairtrade Group at Sale Waterside – and joined an attempt to break the world record for eating bananas! Met with a constituent to discuss a personal case. Flew to Northern Ireland in the evening for Ministerial Business. Saturday – in Northern Ireland for Ministerial Business. Sunday – in Northern Ireland for Ministerial Business.
